Dabiri-Erewa Congratulates Nigerian Broadcaster Richard Edoki on UK Award Nomination

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Nigerian-born broadcaster Richard Edoki, popularly known as Richybongo, on his nomination for Best Newcomer at the National Hospital Radio Awards 2025.

The congratulatory message, issued by NIDCOM’s Director of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols Unit, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, in Abuja, praised Edoki for showcasing Nigerian excellence abroad. Dabiri-Erewa lauded his efforts in promoting African culture and fostering inclusivity through his work in hospital broadcasting. She also wished him success at the awards ceremony, scheduled for April 5, 2025, in Leicestershire, United Kingdom.

Richybongo, the host of African Vibe with Richybongo on the Community & Hospital Broadcasting Network in Cornwall, has been recognised for his outstanding contributions to hospital broadcasting. His Sunday evening show celebrates African heritage while building cultural bridges with the Cornish community.

The National Hospital Radio Awards, organised annually by the Hospital Broadcasting Association, honours exceptional contributions to hospital broadcasting across the UK.

Before relocating to the UK three years ago, Edoki built his career in Nigeria as a broadcaster at Silverbird/Rhythm. His work continues to inspire Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.
