Dangote, Honeywell Partner to Boost Refinery Capacity to 1.4m bpd by 2028

The Dangote Group has entered a partnership with Honeywell to expand the Dangote Refinery’s capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day by 2028.

Honeywell will provide advanced refinery technology and automation systems to support the upgrade from the facility’s current 650,000 bpd capacity.

Dangote says the move will strengthen Africa’s energy independence, cut Nigeria’s fuel imports, and increase exports of refined products. Analysts predict job creation, higher foreign exchange earnings, and a stronger regional fuel supply.

The expansion will be executed in phases beginning in 2025, positioning the refinery among the world’s largest once completed. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
