Dangote Industries has been awarded a contract worth N158 billion to construct service lanes connecting the Lekki Deep Sea Port to the Shagamu-Benin Expressway. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) granted approval for the project, which is seen as a critical infrastructure development for enhancing access to the port and improving logistics in the region.

The service lanes will serve as a key link, facilitating the movement of goods and services from the Lekki Deep Sea Port to other parts of the country, including major highways. This is expected to ease traffic congestion, boost trade, and support Nigeria’s growing industrial and export activities.

The Lekki Deep Sea Port, one of Nigeria’s largest infrastructural projects, has been at the center of efforts to enhance the country’s maritime and logistics capabilities. With Dangote Industries taking charge of the service lanes construction, the project is set to benefit from the company’s expertise in large-scale infrastructure development.

Once completed, the service lanes will provide a smoother connection between Lagos and other parts of the country, bolstering economic activities and positioning the Lekki corridor as a key trade and industrial hub.

The Federal Executive Council’s approval highlights the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and supporting private-sector partnerships in developing the nation’s transport and trade networks.
