The Dangote Group has reassigned several engineers who were earlier disengaged during the dispute between the company and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN). The affected engineers, including some who were still graduate trainees at the time of their dismissal, have now been recalled and redeployed to various project sites across the country.

According to reports, the re-engaged engineers have been invited to collect their letters of re-employment or redeployment, with some posted to the company’s coal mining project in Benue State and others assigned to concrete road construction projects in Borno and Ebonyi States. Additional postings include rice processing facilities in Kebbi, Niger, Sokoto, and Zamfara States.

The company has instructed the recalled workers to resume duties within 14 days of receiving their letters, warning that failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the opportunity. One of the letters, obtained by The PUNCH, confirmed that the engagement was based on performance assessments and interviews, adding that the positions would begin with a two-year trainee program combining classroom and hands-on training.

The new placements, according to the Dangote Group, aim to build technical competence and prepare the engineers for future leadership roles within the organisation. The company reaffirmed its commitment to providing continuous learning opportunities and strengthening its workforce to support its expanding operations across Nigeria.
