In a groundbreaking development for regional energy integration, Dangote Refinery and Neptune Oil have announced the first-ever export of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from Dangote Refinery to Cameroon. This milestone, resulting from a strategic partnership between the two companies, highlights their commitment to strengthening economic ties between Nigeria and Cameroon while addressing the region’s growing energy needs.
Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of the Dangote Group, commented on the achievement: “This inaugural export of PMS to Cameroon is a clear demonstration of our vision for a unified and energy-independent Africa. With this step, we are laying the foundation for a future where African resources are refined and exchanged across the continent for the benefit of our people.”
Antoine Ndzengue, Director and Owner of Neptune Oil, emphasized the significance of the partnership for Cameroon: “Becoming the first importer of petroleum products from this world-class refinery marks a turning point for our country. This initial supply, executed without international intermediaries, enhances our energy security and supports local economic development. It reflects our commitment to serving our markets independently and efficiently.”
The partnership between Dangote Refinery and Neptune Oil goes beyond this initial export. Both companies are exploring further initiatives to create a reliable supply chain, which will help stabilize fuel prices and foster new economic opportunities across the region.
For Nigeria, this export demonstrates Dangote Refinery’s capacity to meet domestic demands while positioning itself as a major player in the regional energy market. It marks a significant leap toward providing high-quality, locally sourced petroleum products to Cameroon.
