In a notable development for Nigeria’s petroleum industry, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from ₦990 to ₦970 per litre for marketers. This decision, unveiled through a press statement on November 24, 2024, is seen as a gesture of gratitude towards Nigerians for their steadfast support in realizing the refinery’s vision.
According to Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, this price adjustment is part of the refinery’s year-end appreciation for the public and government. The reduction aims to foster domestic economic growth and well-being, complementing existing measures to encourage local enterprise.
The statement also emphasized Dangote Refinery’s commitment to quality, promising environmentally friendly and sustainable petroleum products while maintaining a steady supply to address domestic fuel needs.
As production continues to ramp up, this initiative is expected to alleviate concerns about supply shortages while reinforcing the refinery’s role in driving the country’s energy sector forward.
