Davos Spotlight: Wale Edun Outlines Nigeria’s Path to Sustainable Growth at the World Economic Forum

The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Mr. Wale Edun, has joined Vice President Kashim Shettima at the 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The Vice President is leading Nigeria’s delegation at this premier global economic gathering.

Ahead of the event, HM Edun granted an exclusive interview to African Business Magazine, where he shared his optimism about Nigeria’s economic trajectory. “Our economic policies are yielding tangible results,” he stated. “Increased domestic refining capacity, a stable exchange rate, and greater fiscal transparency are laying the foundation for sustainable growth and bolstering Nigeria’s reputation as an attractive investment destination.”

The Honourable Minister also highlighted key achievements under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, citing improved foreign reserves, rising government revenue, and transformative infrastructure and energy projects. Additionally, he underscored the government’s commitment to inclusivity, noting that social protection programmes have already reached millions of Nigerians.

Nigeria’s active participation at this year’s WEF reflects its ambition to lead global economic conversations and attract the investments needed to drive inclusive and sustainable development.
