Former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, has appeared before a court in London over allegations that she accepted a £100,000 bribe.

UK prosecutors allege that the money was received as an inducement connected to oil-sector dealings during her time in office. She denied the allegation, insisting that she did not engage in any corrupt activity.

The case is part of wider investigations in the United Kingdom into alleged corruption and asset recovery linked to her tenure as petroleum minister, alongside previous actions by Nigerian authorities.

The court adjourned the matter to a later date as legal proceedings continue.
