Former President Donald Trump is weighing in on Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s surprise decision to step down from Congress — and he isn’t holding back.

Greene, who represents Georgia’s 14th congressional district, announced on Nov. 21 that she will resign her seat, with her departure taking effect on January 5, 2026. The announcement follows weeks of political tension, including Trump’s withdrawal of his endorsement for her reelection.

Speaking to ABC after the news broke, Trump reacted bluntly: “I think it’s great news for the country.”
