The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, shared his humble beginnings, recalling walking barefoot to secondary school and coming from a village once missing from Nigeria’s map. He also reflected on his early ministry when resources were scarce, with faith as his only currency.

Delivering a sermon at the 50th anniversary celebration of the All Christians Fellowship Mission (ACFM) in Abuja, Mr Adeboye highlighted God’s faithfulness and ability to provide in times of need. He urged Nigerians to not judge their worth based on present hardships, assuring them that God sees their struggles and can elevate anyone to greatness. He encouraged the audience to trust in God, especially during challenging times. “Your promotion is not in the hands of man. Your promotion is in the hand of God,” he affirmed.

Mr Adeboye also praised ACFM’s founder, Rev. Williams Okoye, describing him as a steadfast man of faith who has remained committed to God despite challenges and successes. He noted that Mr Okoye’s unwavering dedication is an inspiration for others to follow.

ACFM’s 50th Anniversary Celebration

Rev. Okoye, in his reflections on the church’s 50-year journey, expressed immense gratitude for God’s faithfulness. He shared that ACFM began from modest beginnings in a makeshift structure, growing into a global mission with branches across Nigeria and other countries like Rwanda, Uganda, and Burkina Faso.

The anniversary theme, “God Our Helper,” from 1 Samuel 7:12, resonated with the mission’s vision to bring people to Christ and equip them for ministry. He acknowledged that spiritual growth and national transformation stem from recognising and thanking God for His mercies, no matter how small.

Rev. Okoye proudly shared that ACFM has significantly impacted the nation, having pastored two Nigerian presidents without any corruption or scandal. The church has also developed materials and held powerful meetings that contributed to national transformation.

Looking ahead, he expressed optimism for ACFM’s future, believing that God will continue to guide and bless the church as it steps into the next chapter of its mission.

Public Figures Reflect on ACFM’s Impact

Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, former Senate President, expressed his gratitude for God’s guidance throughout his career. He credited ACFM for playing a key role in his early Christian life in Abuja, and congratulated the church on its 50th anniversary. He emphasised the importance of maintaining a strong connection with God, particularly in public service.

Ifeanyi Odedo, a former elder of the church and National President of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International Nigeria, also reflected on the church’s impact on his life and ministry. He highlighted ACFM’s role in shaping his Christian character and preparing him for leadership positions.

The Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Titus Omolewa, acknowledged the challenges of organising the golden jubilee celebrations but praised God for providing the strength and grace needed to overcome obstacles. He thanked God for the teamwork that made the event a success.

The church has dedicated three days of praise to God in celebration of its 50-year journey, marking the anniversary with gratitude and faith for the future.
