The Edo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gbenga Agun, tragically collapsed and died on Thursday during an event in Benin City. The fatal incident occurred shortly after he delivered a keynote address at a program organized by the International Association of World Peace Advocates.
Agun was immediately rushed to the Military Hospital on Airport Road, Benin City, in a bid to save his life. Unfortunately, medical personnel pronounced him dead on arrival, leaving the Edo NSCDC command and the agency’s national headquarters yet to issue any official statement concerning his sudden death.
