Speaking at the INEC Stakeholders Conference in Benin City on Wednesday, Yakubu confirmed that sensitive materials are prepared and will be delivered to the Central Bank of Nigeria early next week. He also noted that mock accreditation exercises have been successfully completed in preparation for the upcoming election.

Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun assured that the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) is committed to ensuring a peaceful election in the state. He stated that the force, along with over 8,000 members of sister agencies, would be deployed to maintain order. Egbetokun warned potential troublemakers and non-state actors to avoid interference during the election period.

Representatives of the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare II, attended the conference. They conveyed the Oba’s apolitical stance and emphasized that the incoming administration should focus on the development of Edo State.
