The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to food security, calling for a more adaptive and resilient approach to agricultural development.

Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the Agricultural Sector Working Group (ASWG) held Tuesday in Abuja, Mr. Edun emphasized the importance of aligning Nigeria’s agricultural strategy with the post-Malabo agenda. He underscored the need to enhance productivity, broaden access to finance, and tap into the potential of value-added exports.

Mr. Edun assured stakeholders of the Ministry’s strong backing, noting that agriculture remains a cornerstone of President Bola Tinubu’s economic agenda. The ASWG is expected to serve as a key platform for cross-sectoral coordination and for tracking tangible progress toward both national and continental food security objectives.
