The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 37 suspected internet fraudsters, commonly referred to as ‘Yahoo Boys,’ in Awka, the capital of Anambra State.

The suspects were apprehended during a sting operation at Commissioners’ Quarters, Dr. J. O. Ukwutinife Close, in Ifite, Awka.

In a statement shared on its official X handle on Wednesday, the EFCC revealed that all the suspects are male. Their arrest was based on intelligence reports linking them to internet fraud activities.

Recovered items include six luxury cars, laptops, and mobile phones.

The commission added that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
