The Ekiti State Government has approved ₦3.866 billion for the construction of staff quarters at the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport in Ado-Ekiti.
The contract, awarded to CCECC Nigeria Limited through direct procurement, covers the construction of 40 residential units. These include:
32 self-contained apartments for junior and middle-level officers,
6 one-bedroom units for senior staff,
2 two-bedroom units for management staff.
The project also provides for supporting infrastructure, such as internal and external road networks, car parks, and a direct-flame incinerator for effective waste management.
According to the government, the quarters are aimed at ensuring safe, modern, and accessible accommodation for aviation personnel, thereby improving operational efficiency and reducing commuting costs from Ado-Ekiti to the airport.
The project, which is expected to be completed within four months, aligns with the state’s broader vision of positioning the airport as a hub for agricultural exports, food security, and economic development.
