FAAN Issues Warning Over Fake Aviation Security Recruitment Scam

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has warned the public about a fraudulent online advertisement claiming to offer positions in Aviation Security (AVSEC).

FAAN confirmed that the advert is unauthorized and misleading, stressing that no AVSEC recruitment exercise is currently ongoing. The fraudulent advert reportedly included a link purporting to be from FAAN, but the authority clarified that it has no connection to any official recruitment process.

The agency urged Nigerians not to click on the link or provide personal information, emphasizing that all legitimate recruitment announcements are made exclusively through FAAN’s official website and verified social media accounts.

“FAAN is committed to transparency in its recruitment processes. Members of the public are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious adverts,” the statement said.

This warning comes amid a rise in online scams targeting job seekers, particularly those seeking employment in government agencies. Such scams can result in victims disclosing sensitive personal information or suffering financial loss.

FAAN advised anyone who encounters suspicious adverts to report them directly to the authority and avoid sharing details like BVN, phone numbers, or home addresses.
