Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has launched a scathing criticism of United Kingdom Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch, rejecting her claim that Britain is “home, not a hotel.” Badenoch made the remark in a post on X, sparking a sharp rebuttal from Fani-Kayode, who insisted that Britain was never truly her home.

In his counter post, the former minister accused Badenoch of misunderstanding her place in British society, alleging that she was merely “tolerated” there. “One day, after they finish using you, the Anglo-Saxons will flush you down the toilet like the used toilet paper that you are,” Fani-Kayode wrote. He added that, at that point, she would realise Britain was “a place of temporary refuge” where she was regarded as “little better than a cotton-picking field hand and plantation slave.”

The exchange adds a fresh layer to ongoing debates over race, identity, and belonging in British politics, particularly for politicians of African heritage who have risen to prominence in the UK. Badenoch, a British-Nigerian, has previously faced both praise and criticism for her stance on immigration, race relations, and national identity.
