The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has approved N36.5 billion for the execution of several key projects across the Federal Capital City (FCC) and its satellite towns. The funding is expected to boost infrastructure development, enhance urban planning, and improve the quality of life for residents.
The approval, granted after a review of priority projects, covers road construction, water supply expansion, and other critical infrastructural needs aimed at bridging developmental gaps between the city center and surrounding communities.
Officials say the projects align with the FCTA’s commitment to sustainable urban development and equitable resource distribution. “This investment is part of our broader plan to ensure the Federal Capital Territory remains a model city, with modern infrastructure that serves both urban and rural communities,” a senior FCTA official stated.
Satellite towns such as Kubwa, Nyanya, and Gwagwalada are expected to benefit from these projects, addressing long-standing infrastructure deficits and easing the burden on residents who rely on the capital’s resources.
Stakeholders have welcomed the move, urging timely execution and transparency in the disbursement of funds to ensure that the projects meet the expected standards and deadlines.
The FCTA has assured the public that contractors will be held accountable and that work on the projects will commence without delay.
