The Federal Government, through the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), has launched an extensive road repair initiative aimed at improving traffic flow on federal highways across Nigeria. This program, which targets key highways in various regions, is part of the government’s commitment to enhancing road safety, reducing congestion, and supporting economic activities.
The initiative will focus on repairing damaged sections, filling potholes, and maintaining existing infrastructure to ensure smoother travel for commuters and commercial transporters. FERMA officials stated that the project is expected to alleviate the long-standing issues of road deterioration and frequent traffic delays on major routes.
With the rainy season ending, the government is expediting repair efforts to complete significant sections before year-end. This nationwide project highlights the administration’s commitment to infrastructure improvement as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s economic development.
