The Federal Government has begun User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the National Single Window (NSW), marking a major step toward the platform’s full rollout scheduled for March 2026. The NSW is designed to streamline trade processes by integrating all port, customs, and regulatory procedures into a single digital system.
The testing exercise brought together key stakeholders, including importers, exporters, and multiple government agencies, to validate system functions and ensure readiness for nationwide deployment. Technology provider CrimsonLogic facilitated the sessions, guiding users through onboarding and end-to-end transaction simulations.
Top government officials, including the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji, monitored the testing phase to assess progress and identify areas requiring adjustments. Agencies participating in the UAT include the Nigeria Customs Service, Standards Organisation of Nigeria, NESREA, NAQS, and the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria, among others.
When operational, the National Single Window is expected to significantly cut cargo-clearance time, reduce trade costs, eliminate duplication of documentation, and improve transparency at Nigeria’s ports. Government officials describe the project as a transformative step that will enhance Nigeria’s competitiveness and align the country with global digital-trade standards.
