The new headquarters, located in Abuja, will serve as the operational hub for financing and coordinating energy projects across Africa.

The establishment of the bank is expected to attract investment in both renewable and conventional energy sectors, support energy infrastructure projects, and enhance access to reliable power across the continent. Government officials highlighted that the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of leveraging strategic partnerships to boost economic growth and regional integration.

During the commissioning ceremony, stakeholders emphasized the bank’s role in catalyzing over $5 billion in energy projects, focusing on renewable energy, power generation, and sustainable infrastructure. The project is also expected to create jobs and strengthen Nigeria’s position as a leading hub for energy investment in Africa.
