The Federal Government has launched a national digital learning initiative by distributing 800 interactive smart boards to public schools across the 36 states and the FCT. Led by the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, in collaboration with UBEC and SUBEBs, the project aims to modernize classroom teaching and enhance learning through technology.
Teachers will be trained to effectively use the smart boards, which allow for multimedia and interactive lessons. This approach is designed to make classroom learning more engaging and aligned with global education standards.
According to Dr Alausa, the initiative promotes active, student-centered learning while bridging the digital divide between public and private schools. It also supports Nigeria’s broader goal of preparing students for participation in the digital economy.
The project reflects the government’s strong commitment to transforming education through digital tools and Artificial Intelligence. By equipping students with essential technological skills, the initiative seeks to build a generation ready for a competitive and technology-driven future.
