The Federal Government has introduced a Unified Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Portal aimed at modernizing the management of polytechnics and technical institutions across Nigeria. Developed by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the portal is designed to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the administration of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
Speaking at the launch, the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, represented by the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, described the innovation as a landmark step in digitizing and standardizing institutional management nationwide. NBTE Executive Secretary, Prof. Idris M. Bugaje, highlighted the ERP as a game-changing tool that will simplify registration, onboarding, and reporting while ensuring secure and reliable data management for all institutions.
The Federal Government has directed all polytechnics and technical institutions to register on the platform by December 2025, making its use compulsory. While stakeholders expressed concerns over funding, ICT infrastructure, and data protection, NBTE assured that the system is equipped with strong security protocols and pledged full technical support to guarantee smooth implementation.
