The Federal Government has opened applications for admission into Federal Technical Colleges (FTCs) across the country, reaffirming its commitment to free Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for Nigerian youths. The move is part of efforts to expand access to skills-based education and equip young Nigerians with practical competencies needed for employment and entrepreneurship.

Officials said the free TVET policy covers tuition, accommodation, feeding, and training materials, underscoring the government’s resolve to remove financial barriers to technical education. The initiative is aimed at addressing youth unemployment, boosting industrial productivity, and supporting national economic diversification.

The government reiterated that strengthening technical education remains a key pillar of its education reform agenda, with Federal Technical Colleges positioned to play a central role in developing a skilled workforce capable of driving sustainable growth and innovation across critical sectors of the economy.
