The Federal Government has commended the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for its sustained support to Nigeria’s development initiatives and expressed readiness to strengthen collaboration to advance key reform programmes.

Speaking at the Presidential Villa in Abuja while receiving the UNDP Resident Representative, Elsie Attafuah, the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, praised the agency’s contributions across several sectors and reaffirmed government’s commitment to leveraging its expertise to promote economic growth and national development.

Gbajabiamila highlighted the administration’s “Made-in-Nigeria” policy as a major step toward industrialisation, job creation, and economic competitiveness, while calling for UNDP’s support in areas such as poverty reduction, education, agriculture, mining, and increased women’s participation in governance. Attafuah said the organisation remains committed to supporting Nigeria’s development priorities and revealed new initiatives aimed at empowering graduates and strengthening collaboration in education and energy.
