The Federal Government has announced a shift toward proactive and structured public communication, moving beyond periodic press briefings to direct engagement with service-delivery ministries. This new approach aims to ensure Nigerians clearly understand ongoing reforms and the benefits they bring. The initiative was disclosed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a strategic visit to the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, and the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, with support from senior ministry officials. The partnership seeks to create a more coordinated communication strategy that highlights the government’s reforms in the health sector.
Key focus areas of the collaboration include the revitalisation of primary healthcare, disease prevention, medical industrialisation, expansion of cancer care, and growth of health insurance coverage. The move is aimed at deepening public awareness, building trust, and ensuring Nigerians fully benefit from ongoing health sector reforms.
