The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening public finances by tackling illicit financial flows and boosting revenue generation, as part of efforts to reduce fiscal leakages and dependence on borrowing.
The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, made this known while speaking at the 5th Special Technical Committee Sub-Committee on Tax and Illicit Financial Flows, where he called for urgent and coordinated action to address persistent revenue losses undermining the nation’s fiscal stability.
He highlighted ongoing reforms aimed at improving tax administration, expanding the revenue base, and enhancing transparency and accountability, noting that these measures are critical to supporting infrastructure development, improving public service delivery, and driving sustainable economic growth.
