FIFA announced on Wednesday that it will allocate $50 million from its Qatar World Cup legacy fund to initiatives by the WHO, WTO, and UNHCR. This includes programs addressing extreme heat protection, promoting women in international trade and the digital economy, and supporting refugees from the Middle East and North Africa.

Despite reporting a $5.8 billion profit from the 2022 tournament, FIFA faced criticism from Amnesty International for failing to compensate exploited migrant workers involved in the event. Amnesty called for reparations to address labor rights abuses linked to the World Cup.
