FIFA President Gianni Infantino has strongly condemned the incidents of racial abuse that marred recent German Cup fixtures, calling them unacceptable and a stain on the spirit of the game. He emphasized that football must remain a sport of unity, diversity, and respect, not a platform for hate.

Infantino urged football authorities in Germany and across the world to take decisive action against perpetrators, stressing that racism has no place in stadiums or society. He also called for stricter sanctions, better security measures, and collective efforts from clubs, fans, and governing bodies to protect players.

The FIFA boss reassured players and affected communities of his full support, vowing that world football’s governing body will continue to work with national associations and stakeholders to eradicate discrimination from the sport.
