
The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, recently toured the operational base of Lee Engineering & Construction Company Limited in Warri, Delta State. The firm, led by Founder and Group Chairman Dr. Leemon Ikpea, is a leading indigenous enterprise specializing in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, and Maintenance (EPCOM) services in Nigeria’s oil, gas, and power sectors.
Accompanied by Mr. Donald Wokoma, Registrar/CEO of the Equipment Leasing Registration Authority (ELRA), the Minister visited the company’s state-of-the-art fabrication yard. During the tour, he praised Lee Engineering for its significant contributions to local manufacturing and industrial development, assuring the management of President Bola Tinubu’s unwavering support for boosting indigenous production.
Minister Edun also highlighted the economic advantages of resuming domestic crude oil refining, noting that increased local production of industrial raw materials would drive economic growth. In response to Lee Engineering’s call for governmental backing, he reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to advancing local manufacturing under the Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes industrial development, job creation, and economic expansion.
This visit underscores the government’s determination to build a self-reliant economy by empowering indigenous businesses and promoting local content in Nigeria’s energy and manufacturing sectors.
