The Federal Government, under the leadership of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has reaffirmed its commitment to launching the National Single Window (NSW) initiative. This digital platform aims to streamline trade procedures, improve transparency, and eliminate revenue leakages in Nigeria’s import-export processes. Edun described the NSW as a cornerstone of the government’s broader economic reform efforts during the project’s kickoff workshop in Abuja.

In discussions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Minister Edun confirmed that the NSW has received all necessary approvals, with a dedicated implementation team and roadmap already in place. The IMF expressed strong support and offered technical assistance to help ensure the success of the initiative. Edun emphasized that the platform is designed to position Nigeria more competitively in global trade and enhance export performance.

Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, added that the NSW will significantly cut down on bureaucracy, reduce port delays, and generate higher revenue for the nation. She also stressed the importance of agency coordination and public-private cooperation to fully realise the benefits of the reform. The initiative is expected to play a transformative role in Nigeria’s trade environment and economic growth.
