
The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, has led the Chief Financial Officer of the World Bank, Anshula Kant, on a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.
The high-level engagement underscores Nigeria’s growing partnership with global financial institutions and reflects the confidence of the international community in the Tinubu administration’s bold economic reforms.
During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in key areas such as infrastructure financing, debt sustainability, energy transition, and support for social investment programmes. President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to macroeconomic stability, transparency, and inclusive growth, while the World Bank CFO commended Nigeria’s efforts to reposition the economy for long-term prosperity.
Mr Edun noted that the visit signals deeper alignment between Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda and global development priorities, and opens new avenues for technical and financial cooperation with the World Bank Group.
