Fire Quickly Contained at Lagos General Hospital by Rescue Service

A minor fire outbreak at Ifako Ijaiye General Hospital in Lagos was swiftly brought under control on Wednesday afternoon by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service. The incident occurred in a nursing room on the second floor of the hospital’s main three-storey building, located on Iju Road in Ifako Ijaiye.

The fire was reported at around 3:20 p.m., prompting an immediate response from emergency personnel. Their quick intervention ensured the flames were contained to the room where the fire started, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the facility.

Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, confirmed that no casualties were recorded, and healthcare services at the hospital remained uninterrupted. Normal operations resumed shortly after the fire was extinguished.

An investigation into the cause of the incident is currently ongoing.
