
The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) announced that its recruitment portal for tax officers will officially open on November 2, inviting qualified candidates to apply for Officer II and Officer I positions in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Ekiti, Lagos, and Oyo states.
According to the FIRS announcement, eligible candidates must be 27 years old or younger by December 31, 2024, and must have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program by December 31, 2021. Applicants must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree or HND with a First Class or Second Class Upper Division in fields such as Accounting, Actuarial Science, Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Financial Management, and more. Advanced degrees and professional certifications (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, COREN) are considered advantageous.
Candidates can submit applications exclusively through the official FIRS recruitment portal at www.firs.gov.ng/careers. The FIRS emphasizes that applicants must select only one location and warns against fraudulent recruitment activities, advising candidates to use only the official FIRS website.
The agency highlighted its commitment to equal opportunity, encouraging women, minorities, and persons with disabilities to apply. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for subsequent assessments, including aptitude tests, interviews, and medical exams.
The deadline for applications is November 14, 2024, as FIRS aims to fill positions that will strengthen its tax collection and service delivery nationwide.
