First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Clarifies: No National Prayer Event Being Organized

The Office of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has issued a statement refuting circulating rumors that she is organizing a national prayer event for Nigeria. In an official notice, the First Lady’s office clarified that reports on conventional and social media platforms about her involvement in such an event are “unfounded and misleading.”

While Senator Tinubu is known for her Christian faith and strong advocacy for prayer, she believes that praying for Nigeria should be a voluntary act carried out “willingly, conscientiously, and correctly” by all citizens. According to the statement, she views prayer as the responsibility of every Nigerian, regardless of religious belief, political affiliation, ethnicity, or language.

The statement further advised the public to verify any news or events involving the First Lady through official channels to avoid misinformation. The First Lady’s office emphasized the importance of relying on accurate information and disregarding false reports.
