The First Lady of Nigeria and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has officially handed over three mobile clinic units under the RHI’s Love on Wheels project to boost healthcare delivery in underserved areas. Two of the clinics were delivered to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), while the third was handed to the Taraba State Government, fulfilling promises made during her previous engagements in 2025.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Senator Tinubu described the initiative as “care in action,” aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery beyond hospital walls, improving access, shortening response times, and supporting flexible services, particularly during emergencies in underserved communities. She emphasised that service to the people transcends political lines, saying, “People come first, party politics aside.”

Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, thanked the First Lady for the donation, noting that the mobile clinic will significantly enhance healthcare coverage in the state. He praised Senator Tinubu for extending her generosity beyond party affiliations, describing her as a visionary leader committed to improving lives irrespective of political differences.

Also in attendance, Minister of State for Health, Dr Iziaq Adekunle Salako, commended the First Lady for her dedication to the health sector, highlighting her commitment to the welfare of Nigerians. NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Oluseye Nafiu, described the two clinics for NYSC as a “strategic boost” in reaching underserved communities.

The RHI has previously deployed over 6,300 medical personnel, including 2,319 doctors, providing primary healthcare services to more than 4 million Nigerians annually. The handover of the mobile clinics by Senator Tinubu marks a significant milestone in the RHI’s effort to extend life-saving healthcare services to remote and underserved areas across the country.
