Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has launched a major intervention aimed at promoting menstrual hygiene and improving the wellbeing of young girls in Anambra State.

Through her pet project, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), the First Lady announced the allocation of ₦2.5 billion to support the welfare and education of girls across the state. As part of the programme, she also distributed 10,000 sanitary pads to schoolgirls, emphasizing the importance of menstrual health as a key aspect of girl-child development.

Speaking during the outreach event, Senator Tinubu reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that every Nigerian girl has access to basic health and hygiene needs, noting that no child should miss school due to lack of menstrual products. She urged stakeholders, including parents, schools, and community leaders, to continue supporting initiatives that empower young girls to achieve their full potential.

The Renewed Hope Initiative continues to advance President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for inclusive social development and the protection of women and children across Nigeria.
