Nigeria’s First Lady has called for renewed global commitment and sustainable investment to eradicate tuberculosis by 2030, as she addressed delegates at the opening session of the 39th Stop TB Partnership Board Meeting held in Manila, Philippines.

Speaking at the event, the First Lady emphasized that despite existing funding gaps threatening progress, the world must not relent in its response to tuberculosis, which remains one of the deadliest infectious diseases.

She urged countries and development partners to look inward and invest in resilient health systems, strengthen political will, and promote cross-sector leadership to sustain the momentum against the disease.

The First Lady further highlighted the importance of accelerating the adoption of innovations, new technologies, and community-based approaches to achieve global targets and end the scourge within the set timeframe.
