Terrorists launched a sudden attack on the Isanlu Makutu–Idofin highway in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State on Monday, leaving residents and travellers in a state of fear. The assailants reportedly struck without warning in the afternoon, disrupting movement along the busy route.

Eyewitnesses said the gunmen emerged from the surrounding bushes and began shooting sporadically, forcing commuters to abandon their vehicles and flee for safety. The attack caused chaos as people scrambled to escape the scene, with several vehicles left deserted along the road.
