The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has directed its operatives in Zamfara State to intensify enforcement of traffic laws in a renewed effort to reduce accidents and ensure road safety.

Sector Commander Aliyu Ma’aji gave the directive in Gusau during a sensitisation programme for Unit Heads of Operations. He stressed that the crackdown would focus on critical offences such as overloading, route violations, reckless driving, and speeding.

Ma’aji explained that while enforcement is necessary, public enlightenment remains equally important. He urged motorists to cultivate safe driving habits and obey traffic regulations, noting that strict compliance would significantly reduce the rate of road crashes in the state.

He further called on transport unions, community leaders, and other stakeholders to partner with the FRSC in promoting road discipline and protecting lives.
