Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has called on party members to avoid creating unnecessary hierarchies among aspirants, warning that it could weaken the party ahead of future elections.

Speaking at a women stakeholders’ meeting, Ganduje stressed the importance of unity and equal opportunity within the party. He noted that while networking among aspirants is normal, treating some as inherently “above” others can be harmful and divisive.

Using an analogy, Ganduje likened the imbalance between dominant and weaker aspirants to “an elephant and a rat,” emphasizing that such comparisons undermine fair competition and party cohesion.

He urged members to prioritize discipline, solidarity, and collective decision-making to strengthen the party’s electoral prospects.
