
Minister of Defence nominee, General Christopher Musa, has pledged unwavering commitment to safeguarding Nigeria, assuring lawmakers that he will give his utmost to ensure a safer and more secure nation.
Speaking during his Senate screening, Gen. Musa stressed that stabilizing the country’s security landscape would be his top priority if confirmed.
He cautioned that the growing instability in the Sahel region poses a serious threat to Nigeria, citing recent developments in Mali as a warning sign. According to him, Nigeria must move decisively to prevent similar circumstances from spilling into its territory.
Gen. Musa emphasized the need for tighter border protection, operational reinforcement, and stronger support for the nation’s security forces. He noted that these steps are essential to counter emerging threats and maintain national stability.
