
Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has donated food items and 12 cows to inmates in state custodial centers in celebration of Eid-el-Fitr. The donation, made through the Kano State Committee for the Prerogative of Mercy led by Hajiya Azumi Namadi-Bebeji, included bags of rice, vegetable oil, onions, and seasonings, alongside the cows.
According to a statement released yesterday by CSC Musbahu Kofar-Nasarawa, the public relations officer of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Kano Command, the donation underscores the state administration’s commitment to the welfare of inmates and other vulnerable groups.
Hajiya Namadi-Bebeji emphasized that the initiative is crucial for effective custodial management as well as for the reformation and rehabilitation of inmates, praising the continuous support provided by the state government.
Controller of NCoS, Kano Command, Mr. Ado Inuwa, who received the donation on behalf of the inmates, expressed his gratitude for the government’s assistance, noting that it instills a deep sense of belonging among the inmates.
