Governor Okpebholo Orders Immediate Road Repairs Across Benin Metropolis

In his first decisive action since taking office, Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has ordered contractors to return to construction sites and immediately begin repairs on deteriorating roads across Benin City. The directive was issued on Wednesday during the governor’s inspection tour of key areas, including the Upper Mission Extension Road by Aduwawa Junction and the Ramat Park Axis.

Barely 24 hours after his swearing-in, Governor Okpebholo expressed dissatisfaction with the poor state of the roads, emphasizing the urgent need for action. He assured residents that repairs would commence without delay, underscoring his commitment to quickly delivering the benefits of democratic governance to the people of Edo State.

“I am in a hurry to bring the dividends of democracy to our people,” the governor stated, pledging his administration’s dedication to improving infrastructure across the state.

This move has been welcomed by residents, who have endured road challenges in these areas. Governor Okpebholo’s swift response signals his determination to address infrastructure issues as a priority in his administration.
