
Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has said that agriculture holds the key to addressing about 60 percent of Nigeria’s major challenges, including food insecurity, unemployment, poverty, and insecurity.
Speaking while hosting the Consul-General of the Netherlands in Ado-Ekiti, Oyebanji noted that his administration is prioritizing agriculture as a central pillar of economic development and youth empowerment.
“If we get agriculture right, we will solve at least 60 percent of our problems food insecurity, unemployment, poverty, even insecurity,” he said.
The governor highlighted several agribusiness initiatives in Ekiti aimed at boosting food production and job creation. He also called for increased investment in agricultural value chains and modern farming technologies.
