Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, and Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, were among the dignitaries present at the opening ceremony of the 10th edition of ART X Lagos, West Africa’s premier international art fair.

The annual event, themed around celebrating African creativity and artistic expression, continues to serve as a leading platform connecting artists from across the continent with global audiences. Since its inception, ART X Lagos has evolved from a visionary idea into a global showcase where Africa tells its own story through contemporary art.

Speaking at the event, Minister Musawa reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to fostering a thriving creative economy. She emphasized the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in expanding opportunities for Nigerian artists and cultural entrepreneurs.

The success of ART X Lagos, she noted, underscores the critical role of private sector initiatives in advancing Nigeria’s creative industries. “Platforms like this not only highlight the incredible talent within our country and continent, but also position Africa as a key player in the global art scene,” Musawa said.

Minister Edun echoed this sentiment, commending the organizers for sustaining an event that continues to enhance Nigeria’s reputation as a hub of artistic innovation and cultural exchange.

The 10th edition of ART X Lagos brings together artists, collectors, curators, and enthusiasts from around the world, reinforcing Nigeria’s place at the heart of Africa’s creative renaissance.
