Truck Transit Parks (TTP), operators of Nigeria’s electronic call-up system, Eto, says the platform has boosted agricultural exports by 464% and saved the economy about $1.7 billion since its rollout in 2021.
The digital system, created to end gridlock at Apapa and Tin Can Island ports, has processed more than 3.3 million trucks, including 900,000 between January and November 2025. TTP reports that truck turnaround time has improved sharply, while haulage costs have fallen by over 60%.
The company also claims Eto has drastically reduced illegal payments and dismantled extortion rings that previously operated along port corridors.
TTP, which has invested ₦4.2 billion into the platform, is urging the extension of Eto to other ports and regional corridors, warning that scrapping the system would reverse progress in Nigeria’s non-oil exports.
Analysts, however, say that while Eto has improved logistics efficiency, challenges in processing, storage, and value addition still limit long-term export growth. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
