HM Wale Edun Hosts Chinese Embassy Delegation, Discusses Strengthening Nigeria-China Relations Ahead of FOCAC

Abuja – In a significant diplomatic engagement, Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, welcomed a delegation from the Chinese Embassy led by Minister Counsellor Wang Yingzi. The meeting, held in Abuja, centered on preparations for the upcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) scheduled for next month and explored avenues to bolster the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and China.

During the discussions, Minister Counsellor Wang Yingzi reaffirmed China’s commitment to deepening its economic ties with Nigeria, particularly through increased investments. He pledged continued support from Chinese financial institutions, signaling a strong future collaboration aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s economic landscape.

HM Edun expressed his appreciation for the partnership, emphasizing the crucial role of Chinese investments in driving Nigeria’s economic growth. He highlighted the potential benefits such as job creation, poverty alleviation, and overall development, which are vital for the nation’s progress.
