The House of Representatives has suspended its plenary session in honour of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who passed away during the National Assembly’s annual recess. The decision aligns with the long-standing tradition of the National Assembly to suspend its first sitting following the death of a federal lawmaker.

Plenary is set to resume on Wednesday, 25th September.

Senator Ubah reportedly passed away after travelling to the United Kingdom for a medical operation. He would have turned 53 on the 3rd of September.

His passing has sent shockwaves through the political landscape, with colleagues and constituents mourning the loss of a dedicated lawmaker whose contributions to the Senate were highly regarded.
