Nigerian rapper Ice Prince Zamani has revealed the deep pain he still carries over the unresolved misunderstanding with South African rapper AKA before his passing. The two artists fell out following AKA’s controversial Twitter rants during the 2019 xenophobic violence in South Africa, which led Ice Prince to publicly call him out, sparking what appeared to be a public beef.
Speaking on the G2G Podcast, Ice Prince expressed regret that they never got the chance to reconcile. He described AKA not just as a collaborator but as a close friend who had visited his home in Lagos several times. The unfinished business between them weighs heavily on him, and he admits to having sought forgiveness from God for not making peace while AKA was still alive.
Despite the loss, Ice Prince finds comfort in spiritual visions of AKA during his prayers. “I still see him in my prayers,” he said, believing they are now at peace. He holds onto the hope that AKA continues to watch over him from heaven, continuing their brotherhood beyond this life.
